Note: The research below has been superseded by more recent work available on the Counting for Dollars 2020 main page. In particular, Brief #5 supplements provide state profiles covering the FY2016 expenditures of 55 census-guided programs.
The first report of the Counting for Dollars Project identifies 16 large census-guided financial assistance programs and the distribution of their FY2015 funds by state. Accompanying the report are:
- an overview of 22 federal datasets derived from the decennial census and used to allocate federal financial assistance,
- a profile of each of the 16 financial assistance programs, including funding distribution in FY2015 by state, and
- one table for each state identifying the funds received in FY2015 by program.
