Dr. Betz is a Senior Scholar with the George Washington Institute of Public Policy.  He also is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Political Science at George Washington University. His academic specialization is in health policy and political science.  Additionally, Dr. Betz has taught at the University of New Orleans and served on the part-time faculty at Tulane University School of Public Health.  Dr. Betz has been a guest lecturer for the continuing education programs of the medical schools at Harvard and Johns Hopkins Universities.  Dr. Betz has authored numerous articles on the policy implications of health care.  He is a frequent domestic and international speaker and lecturer on health care policy matters.  

 
Robert Betz, Ph.D. served for over three decades as President of Robert Betz Associates, Inc.; an Arlington, Virginia based consulting firm specializing in health policy issues.  Dr. Betz's substantial background in health care, coupled with his extensive experience in policy, business, and federal government relations, gives him an insightful perspective regarding health policy issues.  In its 32 year history, Robert Betz Associates, Inc. served many leading domestic and international health care providers as well as some of the largest corporations and associations in health care today.
 
Besides his professional and academic pursuits, Dr. Betz has served as a trustee of the Henry H. Kessler Foundation, the world’s largest non-profit organization supporting research and education in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.  Additionally, he serves as the Founding Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army in Washington, DC as well as on several private business corporations.
 
Dr. Betz holds an undergraduate degree from Lambuth College, a master’s degree from Tulane University and a Ph.D. from The George Washington University.  The publishing house of Faulkner & Gray ranked Dr. Betz as one of "The Health Care 500 — Leaders of Today, Tomorrow and Beyond."  Dr. Betz has two children and lives in Arlington, Virginia, USA.
